This week this cute girl slept over so we could "Summerfy" her hair. It's tradition for her to become a Pickaninny, as her mom calls her, with cornrows each Summer.
Remember my last post I mentioned about getting my old Barbies out for Maggie, well I did it. She has never played so well with any toy for so long. Unfortunately there is another one in the house who loves Barbies as well. He however is not as kind to them. Dragging them around by their hair, licking them and leaving teeth marks in their faces. He's kind of a Pervy Cat. I guess all the more reason to teach Maggie to clean up her toys if she doesn't want them getting molested by Neco.
Lately we have been spending so much time in the pool and at the splash pads, that when it comes time for a bath, it just doesn't compare. So Maggie would just scream. After putting it off for a week, she desperately needed a cleaning, so I decided to try the sink. I pretty much cleaned up two sinks worth of water off of my counters and off the floor from her splashing so much.
Isn't Summer just beautiful! I never get tired of our view, and nights like this take all my cares away. Now if only Maggie didn't go to bed of her own choice at 6 o' clock, so we could actually enjoy some evening activities. Well, you give and you take I guess.
It's time to start gearing up for out trip down to Lake Mead, which means catching up on our MOUNTAIN of laundry
I'll be doing a post of some of my favorite Summer Getaway necessities.
Happy Saturday
XO Kelli
